Feed the Birds inspires support at Shrewsbury U3A meeting

Members of Shrewsbury U3A gathered at Theatre Severn this week to hear an inspiring
presentation from Diane, about Feed the Birds.
Over 150 attendees learned about the serious impact of loneliness on vulnerable and
isolated people and how the charity’s simple but meaningful approach, connecting people
through bird feeding, can make a real difference in improving wellbeing and community
connection.
Diane’s talk highlighted the vital work Feed the Birds does across the region, pairing
volunteers with individuals who benefit from regular visits and shared moments with nature.
She also encouraged audience members to consider becoming volunteers or referring
people who might need support.
The response was overwhelmingly positive, with generous donations made following the
presentation. Feed the Birds continues to grow its network of volunteers and clients,
spreading compassion and connection one bird feeder at a time.
