STOP PRESS (June 2026)!! We are currently prioritising referrals for people with a cancer diagnosis, living with and beyond cancer and receiving treatment, along with people living in rural Shropshire. This includes the smaller towns such as Wem, Craven Arms and similar villages.
Do you know someone who may be experiencing loneliness, social or self-isolation? Perhaps a friend, relative or patient is having difficulty getting outside to their beloved garden?
You may know someone who is housebound or experiencing ill health who would benefit from someone to pop in once a week for a quick chat and share the joy that watching wildlife can bring. Feed the Birds brings nature to those who cannot get outside, and we have attached a guide for clients and families here.
Connecting socially and experiencing nature has proven mental and physical health benefits.
We accept referrals from a wide range of sources including doctors, social prescribers, other healthcare professionals, social services, family members and friends.
PLEASE NOTE: Telford & Wrekin have their own Feed the Birds scheme and can be contacted directly at [email protected]
Feed the Birds has been shown to improve feelings of loneliness and bring back a feeling of purpose.
