Let us introduce you to Mary and her journey with Feed the Birds…
Mary is 101 years old and has lived in the same house for over 50 years in rural south west Shropshire.
Her family are all in the 80’s and are unable to support her so she has carers who pop in daily but otherwise she lives alone.
She loved to feed the birds but her mobility has deteriorated so she can no longer safely get out in to the garden.
One of our wonderful volunteers Joan, calls round once a week and fills up the feeder for her and they chat for an hour about days gone by and local going’s on.
This small amount of time and connection to nature each week makes such a difference to Mary’s life.
